Hey and welcome to A Taste of Home Abroad (ATOHA)! Iām Sugru, an avid foodie, with dreams of being a bestselling author and a food show host on the Food Network.
Waakye, Rice and stew are my definition of comfort foods! Dare I say these are definitely above Jollof Rice! I said what I said lool :)
Having the opportunity to live in many parts of Ghana, a stint in the US and now living in the UK, home quickly became more than a place for me! Home is where the food, joy, laughter and conversation is and here at ATOHA, I want to help you create, relive all the feel good moments that remind you of home, one recipe at a time.
You will find recipes from across West Africa Ghana, with emphasis on Northern Ghana which is where I was raised. I will also share tips and some food history along the way as well. So Amaraba ( which is welcome in Dagbani), grab a plate, and lets get cooking and learning.
